This property, built around a central courtyard, has belonged to a Perfumer’s family from Lyon since the 1920’s. The house was dark and old fashioned and needed gently modernizing both for rentals and conferences. Our intervention including re-thinking the fluidity through the long building, creating several new openings to do so, adding a number of bathrooms to be in line with current expectations, as well as completely re-doing the kitchen, back kitchen, storage areas. The light cheerful and colourful interiors reflect this new approach which has been a huge success. Much of the existing family furniture was re-purposed within the project, for example small tables became vanity units, leading to a quirky and pleasant mix of finishes.
